Geotechnical Investigations

NESCON provides geotechnical services on projects that require field
drilling and testing for buildings, highways, drainage and earthwork
structures, tower and plant, etc. Geotechnical investigations will
include the following information.

  • Subsurface soil and ground water conditions
  • In-situ soil strengths
  • Recommendations for foundation type; footing or pile
  • Drainage system, type of fill material, compaction standards
  • Type of cement and sulphate content in the soil

All work is supervised by the Professional Engineers.

Environmental Engineering

NESCON environmental services include:
 Environmental Site Assessment
• Phase I/II/II ESA
 Remediation and Reclamation
Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) are critical in real estate transactions to
identify and quantify the potential environmental risks that might influence the
value of a property or the operating business on a property.
Phase I ESA:

A Phase I ESA covers the review of public and private available data and
records. The site is also inspected in person and document the information.
Based on this, any potential environmental impacts are assessed, and a Phase I
study report is prepared with recommendations.
Phase II ESA:
Phase II ESA are conducted to address the suspected environmental concerns
evolved during Phase I ESA. In this phase, subsurface soil and groundwater
samples are collected through test pit or drilling investigation. The samples are
submitted to independent laboratory for testing.
A Phase II ESA report will cover a summary of results and comparison with
government standards.
Phase II ESA:
Phase III ESA is conducted to address known environment impacts. Further
samples are collected through investigation in order to quantify the impacts,
followed by a remedial measure taken to educe the impacts to acceptable
levels.

Pile Design and Inspection

Pile Design is completed on cast-in place, compacto (Franki), screw
and driven piles.
Field Inspection of pile installation is provided in accordance with
design and field inspection report is prepared for client.

Retaining Wall Design

Geotechnical Investigation require the evaluation of subsurface
conditions which affect the projects including settlement,
heave, bearing capacity, etc. NESCON provide the design by
using the geotechnical investigation report.

Slope Stability Analysis

Slope Stability Assessment is required for those developments
located in close proximity to suspect slopes deemed to be
possibly unstable. The analysis can also be a part of retaining
wall. It involves drilling test holes at specific locations to get
soil and groundwater conditions.
Field and laboratory data are used as input into modelling
program, and generate the report.
